Malaysia Holidays
Welcome to Malaysia
Malaysia
is a land of dichotomy - the colonial Malaysia of old, best represented by Penang
to the Malaysia of the future as seen in Petronas Towers, one of the worlds
tallest building, as well as the coastal beauty of Kota Kinabalu to the hustle
and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia has a population of 22 million and comprises
of Peninsular Malaysia & East Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. Covering
a total of 336,700 Sq. Km, Malaysia is a land full of fascinating sights and
attractions - rich in color & contrast, and promises intriguing experiences
to visitors to the country. Offering attractions ranging from white sandy beaches
to green golf courses and diverse flora & fauna to shopping malls, the country
is complimented by her own friendly and hospitable multi racial people.
In this multi-racial society, freedom of religion is practiced and it is a common
sight for mosques, churches and temples to be located in the same street where
colorful festivals & celebrations are held throughout the year. Remnants
of colonial influence exist as the Portuguese, Dutch and British Empire ruled
Malaysia in the early years.
The most popular destinations in Malaysia are Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu,
Kuching, Kuantan, Pangkor, Taman Negara, Cameron Highlands, besides of course
the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, which is fast becoming shoppers' paradise
and features one of the best airports in the world - the KLIA.

" Penang Island
The 285-sq-km island of Penang, off Peninsula Malaysia's northwestern coast,
is the oldest British settlement in Malaysia and one of the country's premier
resort areas. You can visit the Georgetown on your Singapore travel. The beaches
around the Island boast of being major tourist attraction. What makes Penang
Island really tick is the vibrant and intriguing city of Georgetown on the island's
northeastern coast. Georgetown is a compact city and it's a delight to wander
around. Set off in any direction and you're certain to see beautiful old Chinese
houses, vegetable markets, temple ceremonies, trishaws, mahjong games and all
the other to-ings and fro-ings of Asian street life.
" Langkawi
Langkawi

Peninsular Malaysia, about 30km from Kuala Perlis and 51km from Kuala Kedah
on the mainland. The main island is popularly known as Pulau Langkawi. The islands
are blessed with an intriguing heritage of fabulous myths and legends of ogres
and gigantic birds, warriors and fairly princesses, battles and romance. As
a natural paradise, the islands are perhaps unmatched anywhere else in Southeast
Asia.
" Genting Highlands
2,000 meters above sea level, Genting Highlands, a magnificent city on the
hilltop, is but a mere 50km from Kuala Lumpur. It offers a cool respite from
the hustle and bustle of the city capital. Crisp invigorating mountain air
complemented by majestic scenery spreads out before your eyes. Lush green
tropical rainforest shrouded in a veil of perpetual mist makes it hard to

and the ever dusty city. Here, consistent temperatures between 16 and 23 degrees
provide natural air conditioning
" Cameron Highlands

and is considered Malaysia's most historic city. While touring at Melaka, Malaysia
you can visit the ancient looking junks which still sail up the river, soaking
the waterfront with a timeless charm. The city remains full of intriguing Chinese
streets, antique shops, temples and nostalgic reminders of the now-departed
European colonial powers. The most imposing relic of the Dutch period in Melaka,
the massive pink town hall, Stadthuys, was built between 1641 and 1660. It's
believed to be the oldest Dutch building in Asia and displays all the characteristic
features of Dutch colonial architecture. The old part of Melaka is a fascinating
area to wander around, and this is where you'll find many of Melaka's famous
antique shops.
" Tioman Island
This Island lies off the eastern coast of Peninsula Malaysia in the South
China Sea. It boasts of beautiful beaches, clear, coral-filled water, Technicolor
marine life, virtually unpopulated jungle highlands, crystal-clear streams,
and the dramatic peaks of Batu Sirau and Nenek Semukut. You can visit exotic
places like 'Palm-Frond Hill' and 'Village of Doubt' while on tour to Tioman
