Day 01 : ARRIVE CHENNAI
Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon is at leisure.
Stay at hotel for 02 nights.
Day 02 : CHENNAI - MAHABALIPURAM - KANCHIPURAM
Enjoy a full day excursion to Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram.
Full day tour of Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram (64 kms from
Chennai (Madras)) is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous as a city
of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first temple dedicated to Shiva
was built in the 7th and 8th century & has paintings on the walls. Temples
of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha, Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest.
Kanchipuram is also famous for its silks. The city of Mahabalipuram is famous
for the seven pagodas. Here on the seashore is an interesting group of ancient
rock hewn temples which are the examples of Dravidian style of Architecture
Day 03 : CHENNAI TRICHY
Enjoy a city tour of Chennai. Later in the evening transfer to railway station
in time to board a train to Trichy.

Trichy was the citadel of the Chola dynasty in the medieval period. In the
18th century it witnessed the Carnatic wars fought between the French and
the English. Lord Robert Clive's house is still there to see and so is the
Danish Church. The Rock-Fort is the landmark of Trichy. A climb of 434 steps
leads to the ancient temple of Ganapati on top and a further climb to a Shiva
temple.

Day 04 : TRICHY - TANJORE - MADURAI
Early in the morning enjoy a city tour of Trichy and then drive to Madurai
enroute visiting Tanjore. Afternoon is at leisure.
Tanjore, the beautiful Chola Temple of Brihadeeshwara is capped by a monolithic
cupola made of a single granite block weighing 80 tons which was taken to
the top with the help of a 6 km long ramp, an old technique used by the Egyptians
for building pyramids. Its bronzes and handicrafts make Tanjore one of the
highlights of a visit to South India

Day 05 : MADURAI
Enjoy a full day city tour of Madurai.
Morning visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord
Shiva with its towering gopurams (rising high above the surrounding country
side). Later, visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - A gracious building in the
Indo saracenic style, famous for the Stucco work on its domes & arches.
Also visit the Alagar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple.
Day 06 : MADURAI - PERIYAR
Met at hotel and drive to Periyar. Later in the afternoon enjoy a boat ride
on Lake periyar followed by visit to Spice Plantation.
The earliest sanctuary to be set up in 1934, it extends to 777 square kms
& forms part of the high mountain ranges, the Western Ghats. Wild life
can be seen while cruising on Periyar Lake in a motor boat. Amongst the animals
which can be seen are elephants, wild boar, sambar, tiger, leopard, wild dog,
langur monkeys, etc.

Day 07 : PERIYAR - KUMARAKOM
Drive through the winding "Ghats" lined with prosperous tea plantations
& then arrive the fascinating countryside of low-lying palms and paddy
fields to Kumarakom (190 kms) enroute visit the tea estates. Kumarakom - is
a beautiful backwater village on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake,
criss crossed with meandering waterways and ancient cottages. A holiday in
Coconut Lagoon promises to be different from any other. Every "tarawad"
or cottage you stay in is at least a century old, reconstructed piece by piece
in accordance with ancient rites of carpentry.

Day 08 : KUMARAKOM - HOUSEBOAT
Morning at leisure, taking a cruise on the backwaters in traditional country
canoes called "vanjis" to see the agricultural activities of the
local people living on the back waters. Visit also the beautiful bird sanctuary.
Lunch at the hotel Afternoon board the traditional rice boats - "Ketuvallam"
and begin your journey through the picturesque backwaters and small lakes
relaxing in the tranquillity of Kerala's beautiful scenery. Experience the
way of life and activity of the local people, the one bedroom house with a
lounge is exclusively for you, meals will be served with freshly bought produce
from the local markets and cooked on board. Overnight on board.
Day 09 : HOUSEBOAT - MARARI
Marari: Breakfast on board. Sail to Alleppey & disembark at Puthenagady
Jetty. On arrival proceed directly to Mararikulam (30 kms) Mararikulam - is
one of the picturesque fishing villages that dot the lovely coast line of
Kerala. This private, shallow beach is fringed with unending lines of coconut
palms. Rest of the day at leisure for own activities and enjoy the facilities
of the Resort.

Day 10 : MARARI
Full day at leisure for own activities and enjoy the facilities of the Resort.

Day 11 : MARARI - COCHIN
Popularly known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, Cochin is the oldest European
settlement in India. Frilled with backwaters and rich with old world charm,
this city has lured many a great voyager to its shores. Arrive Cochin &
check into hotel Tour of Cochin or "Kochi"- the palm green, commercial
captial of Kerala is known as the "Queen of the Arabian Sea". From
time immemorial, Arabs, Chinese, Dutch, British & Portuguese seafarers
followed the sea route to Kochi & left their impression on the town. Modern
Kochi is thus a splendid mosaic of these myriad influences. Visit the Dutch
Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Church of St. Francis, the Bolghatty Palace
& the famous Chinese fishing nets. Afternoon, Harbour cruise - Cochin
has one of the finest natural harbours. The backwaters extending to the east
& south from the harbour are dotted with tiny islands, formed naturally
by alluvial deposits from the rivers. Evening witness the Kathakali dance
performance + make up demonstration - Kathkali is a unique dance which has
a 2000 year old history with more than 100 different 'mudras' or gesture depicting
deities, demons, heroes, heroines and kings - each based on episodes from
the Mahabharata and Ramayana, the two epic Indian myths.

Day 12 : COCHIN
Enjoy a full day city tour of Cochin.
Cochin is the natural harbour created by the famed underwater Malabar mud-banks
whose quality ensures that the rougher the seas are outside the calmer the
waters are within the Harbour. Vasco-de-Gama placed it on the world map. It
has a Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, mosques & Hindu temples.
Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets. Afternoon free
Day 13 : COCHIN KOVALAM
Met at hotel and drive to Kovalam (236 Kilometers / about 05 Hours). Evening
is at leisure.
Stay at hotel for 02 nights.
Day 14 : KOVALAM
Go for half-day city tour of Trivandrum including Padmanabhaswamy Temple,
Horse Palace and Napier museum.
Day 15 : KOVALAM TRIVANDRUM CHENNAI
Met at hotel and transfer to Airport in time to board flight to Chennai.
